Help!!
So basically, we suck at writing posts. Or we're just not having adventures. Probably a little of both. I propose another road trip!! Where should we go?

in the meantime...
this is emily.
(I know, she's a babe)
this is alison.
(also a babe. and a babe who enjoys taking random pictures of herself on my camera)
they have left provo.
emily is in idaho, making millions.
alison is in bakersfield, also making millions.
but don't fret!
they will be back soon, and come fall semester we will once again go adventuring together in provo.
in the meantime...
marissa, eliza and laurie had a lovely, muddy adventure.
it all started on a rainy tuesday morning.
"let's run up the y!" said eliza.
"okay!" said laurie and marissa.
we put on our spandex. we put on our sweatshirts. we ran up to the trailhead. we wandered around some dirt trails in the foothills. we finally found the y parking lot. eliza stored her camelback (with phone and camera) in the bathroom, since she didn't want it to get wet.
by now we weren't running any more, so we hiked up the y. it was pouring rain. we saw two girls and a guy, but otherwise it was deserted.
we reached the top. we touched the y. then we went back down.
we were thoroughly soaked, and mildly numb.
eliza's backpack was gone!
we promised vengeance on those two girls for taking it. they were the prime suspects. we will hunt you down. we will find you.
there was nothing else to do but carry on.
so we went down the now extremely muddy trails.
it was slippery.
it was dirty.
it was awesome.
eliza was the first to fall. she just plopped down in the mud on her butt. marissa and laurie felt bad, but it was still funny.
then.
on the steepest, muddiest hill, marissa led the way and slid down it like she was surfing. that's right, surfing the mud. she managed to keep her balance, with the help of the grass. but it was close.
laurie went next. she quickly slid out of control, tearing grass out of the hill and attempting to stay out of the mud.
it was futile.
she landed on her bottom end.
we were dying with laughter. laurie tried to get up, but only slid farther down and got dirtier.
it was hilarious.
eventually she got up and rubbed her rear end in the wet grass, trying to get the mud off.
eliza was next. she started off well, but somehow only her front foot was sliding down and she ended up doing the splits down the hill.
also hilarious.
in an act of vengeance for her good balance, eliza rubbed her muddy hands on marissa's otherwise sparkling clean butt.
then they all ran home, and hoped their f.e.c.'s weren't nearby to witness their grimy and soaked attire.
(future eternal companions, that is.)
when they got home, marissa checked her phone. it had a new voicemail. "hello. this is officer patrick from the provo police department. i'm trying to locate eliza. she left her backpack at the trailhead for the y hike. I was searching for graffiti when I found it..."
the end.

disneyland!
so. on a lovely thursday afternoon with our project-linus-earned disneyland vouchers in hand, meela and friends drove for nine and a half hours down to stanton CA, a city ten to fifteen minutes south of anaheim. we arrived at about 2 in the morning (3am utah time) and due to booking the wrong weekend at our hotel, it took us another hour to find a non-sketchy hotel to stay the rest of the night in. (preferably without a cop car, drugs, gangs, or prostitution.) with the advice of a friendly though profane cop, we stayed the rest of the night in a trusty motel six. it was awesome. (sort of.) most people averaged 0-2 hours of sleep that night.
Here are some photos:

the whole crowd in front of walt and mickey. and did I mention? we missed a snowstorm in provo for some beautiful weather in southern california.

and so all thirteen of us were in disneyland park with our awesome volunteer buttons by nine a.m. running off of two hours of sleep!! We took the park by storm, managing to ride all the awesome rides without passing out. Although it was a close one with dylan on the teacups.
Here are some photos:

this is all of us prior to "captain e.o." michael jackson plus george lucas plus minimal sleep? "I felt high" (as eliza said to me after the awesome 3D movie. I agreed.)

the whole crowd in front of walt and mickey. and did I mention? we missed a snowstorm in provo for some beautiful weather in southern california.

a rather epic teacup ride. in this particular teacup: dylan, laurie, kali, paul, and tyler, who successfully recorded the whole thing on dylan's camera.

the whole group at the entrance. :)

pooh is the coolest. just ask paul.

post-splash mountain. i think paul wanted us to notice that he got his pants wet? haha.

tarzan's treehouse!! this picture is probably the epitome of our day at disneyland.
so, this was only half of our adventures in southern california. but we'll save the other half for another day.
